Shells Provide Great Drainage For Plants

Small shells provide wonderful drainage for plants and they look great! In fact, the herbs in the photo are actually silk, from Pottery Barn (everyone thinks they are real). I used one of my favorite fish platters, set the plants on it and surrounded them with shells we collected from Barefoot Beach, Bonita Springs, Florida. So, not only are they pretty they remind me of great vacations at the beach!

Where is your favorite beach to collect shells? And share your display ideas!

    Reaching The Port Of Heaven

I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving; to reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it – but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.
