Oar Art

Very creative Michael, owner of Old Charm, a B&B in St. Mary’s Pennsylvania, was looking for a vintage look to decorate a wall in his “sunset” room. He wanted to use oars but couldn’t find the right look, so he created it and WOW, they are great!

Simple and Elegant Coastal Centerpiece

Martha Stewart Candles

“Light up a table with this sand-and-shell centerpiece.

Use candle adhesive to secure slender tapers to the bottom of a clear glass vase.

Carefully pour in a few inches of sand, then arrange shells on top.

Besides refracting the candlelight for added ambience, the vase will protect the flames from breeze. “

Aquatic Artwork

Aquatic ArtSimply changing some decorative accents can make a room feel like it has had a total makeover. The holidays are over and this is a perfect time for re-decorating.

Good Housekeeping Magazine showcased a Maine beach cottage (June 2010 issue) with a great coastal accent. Hanging fishing nets and adding shells makes a fabulous focal point for this guest room.

Starfish Santa Ornament

Starfish Santa

I love a Christmas tree with handmade ornaments, especially when it is a “BeachTree“!

This is one of our favorite ornaments, made by a friend. All you need is a starfish, paint and a ribbon to hang the ornament.

What is your favorite handmade ornament?
